Post-conflict Reconciliation in Aceh, Indonesia: Perspectives from the Victims

This field research using participant observation critically analyzed the post-war reconciliation between Aceh Province and Indonesian Government. Special attention was paid to violent incidents at Rumoh Geudong, Krueng Arakundoe, Jambo Keupok. Besides, in-depth interviews with 16 informants who were engaged directly indirectly on problems collect data, followed by employing library sight findings. The peace agreement concluded parties hated each other. Contrarily, government’s function as developer of post-understanding process not shown substantially. has further enhanced new forms violence carried out after previous violence. meant nothing power itself. substantially successful but failed. absence which had an impact existence war victims, particularly in rebuilding their psychological conditions.
